Spin Class Sadness

17 Jan

You know you’re a sad sack when you go to spin class and you pull out a 5 class pass that was issued in December of 2010……YUP, it took me over 2 years to do 5 spin classes! LAME!

ANYWAY…I went, and we should focus on that 🙂

Sober as a Judge

8 Jan

An actual conversation between myself and my darling Jenell:

Me: OMG Jenell I am so fat

Jenell: Lol, I was just about to txt the same thing

Me: I had to lay down to put my pants on, its unruly

Jenell: Your wearing Jeans? Lucky!!

Me: I tried them on today, it wasn’t good for my self esteem

Not good, I would really prefer our conversations to go something like this:

Me: OMG Jenell, I can see my abs

Jenell: Lol, I was jsut about to text that

Me: I had to go shopping to buy smaller jeans today, and my butt looks super perky in my stretch pants now.

Jenell: I’m a stone cold fox

Maybe next year?

Anyway, after that less than optimal conversation with Jenell I created a vision board, something to put up and keep me motivated over the next few months, here it is:

As you can see over the next few month I will be transforming into a yoga doing, sweet bike riding singer with abs like Gwen Stefani. I will also have lots of time for leisurely cups of coffee and weekend trips to ‘the’ cottage.

Now to answer Jenells questions.

1). What healthy “thing” do you do that you really enjoy but you’ve sort of let go of? Let me know what that is and how you plan on incorporating it back into your life in 2013!

Yoga…..more than anything. I miss a good sweaty yoga class. Spin too, I miss a good sweaty spin class. At this point I find it very difficult to take 2-3 hours out of the day to commute to a spin class, so that might have to be put on hold. I am however selling my car and saving up for a bike (drastic times call for drastic measures). I have found another mom in the area who is keen on yoga so she will be visiting on Monday nights so the kids can play and we can do a yoga DVD. Don’t worry though, I will also make it a point to go to at least ONE yoga class at a near by studio, child free.

2). What have you been wanting to do but are afraid of. What will you do to ensure you achieve that goal in 2013. Attach a goal date to it if you can.

I am afraid of leaving Sadie with a care giver while I go to the gym. I have been working with a lovely women for the last couple weeks who has a son Sadie’s age. I think by March I should be able to leave her for a full morning while I do a class…..I know, I’m coddling.

Happy New You!

Alrighty my friend – the party has ended, don’t be the drunk person who over stays their welcome. Go home and sober up. Translation – back to it!!

My challenge for this week is GOAL SETTING

1). What healthy “thing” do you do that you really enjoy but you’ve sort of let go of? Let me know what that is and how you plan on incorporating it back into your life in 2013!

Checking in,..

19 Dec

Natasha, you’re like my Parole Officer and I thought I would check in today! All is well, but life is super busy. Perhaps too busy for challenges and lessons. I propose we take a holiday hiatus and enjoy it with our families. Perhaps this is my way of saying I need a few drinks! Lol… Image But all in all let’s stick to eating well, don’t feel guilt if we indulge a bit over the holidays. Let’s enjoy and resume in the new year. Cliché? I know…but if the end of the world is really going to happen = I want to go out with a bang! Hee hee.

Here is my lunch today. Roasted veggie quinoa. See, on target…promise! No house arrest for me. Take care my friend..and ooooh we do have ONE challenge. Do one self-love thing for yourself over the break. I want to hear all about it in January. I might take a day off and go to Body Blitz. Yippie!

WEEK 5 – FITNESS ROUTINE

1 Dec

OH YEAH BABY!

Thanks to an issue of Womens Health I have been inspired to use this photo for the next Months sequence of workouts. It will be hard & fast but thats what we need, especially during the holidays.

Here is the first sequence:

  • Warm Up
  • Do 10 reps of each exercise, moving from one to the next without resting. Complete as many rounds as possible in 15 minutes. 1-2-3-4-5-6
  • Cool down & stretch

Do this routine 3x next week and be sure you get in a nice long walk on the alternate days. Next week we will mix up the sets/reps/order of the exercise to keep our body guessing and get some great results!

Here I am + my confession

1 Dec

Sorry Jenell, I jumped ship for a week. I went home to Nova Scotia for a little early Christmas break, not a break from our goals, but a break from work/stress/toronto. Sadie, who has been a little ‘clingy’ because of the unfamiliar surroundings, is making it very difficult to write a post (she bangs the keys) but I assure you I am keeping up with most of our rules.

Going home usually means reverting into my early 20’s self and indulging in all the fried food and beer I can get my hands on. I am happy to report I have not had a SINGLE beer and have only nibbled on a few my nephews fries. OK, ok, I know fries are not part of our deal, but given my history in this Nova Scotia setting I am doing REALLY well.

Now before I write your next fitness assignment, here is my confession as promised:

I drank coffee!!!! I couldn’t help it. I was a sorry shell of a human being, after 3 days a girlfriend of mine forcibly handed me a large cuppa because she couldn’t handle my blank stare. I can’t give it up, I’m sorry. I am still up 4-5 times a night with Sadie and I need something to get me through the day. I feel like I have given up so SO much to be a ‘good’ mom…….Coffee is all I have left 🙂

Month 1 complete!!

30 Nov

Natasha where are you???

I am happy to report I lost 7lbs this first month. Only 50 to go. Lol 🙂
